Pythagorean Fearem – Howler
A band from Minnesota who at the start of the decade looked set to be one of the biggest bands on the planet. They had it all, swagger, tunes, style and in front Jordan Gatesmith they had a singer with charisma. Comparisons to The Strokes were unfortunately inevitable – and actually they sound nothing like them.
If anything they sound like the Modern Lovers fronted by the bloke from Razorlight (that’s a good thing by the way). They also sound far too young to appreciate the obvious talents that they have.
The first album ‘Amercia Give Up’ was released to the usual acclaim bands touted as the Next Big Thing get and for a while it all looked rosy. In their single ‘I Told You Once’ you also had a record that was getting massive attention everywhere. Howler had arrived.
Then they went away to record album two which was released in 2014 “World Of Joy” it was called and everyone, as usual, forgot about them. Including Me.
